Nodin Cutfeet ᓅᑎᐣ

Decolonial Interaction Designer,
Technology Consultant & Passionate Nerd

I’ve always dreamt of being an inventor. Today, I invent tools that help communities thrive. Guided by Indigenous kinship systems, my work in interaction design focuses on technologies that nurture connection and shared care. I create technology not for its own sake, but for the strength of our relationships, Indigenous sovereignty and the futures we build together.

I am currently working on developing Waniskâw, a digital art and coding platform for Indigenous high schoolers and young adults, which started as my capstone project at Emily Carr University.

I am a proud member of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation currently living in Victoria, BC.

Awards & Accolades

The recognition I’ve received for my work on Waniskâw has opened doors to new collaborations and mentorship, helping me grow as both an innovator and a leader.

Waniskâw Foundation

Founder

Waniskâw is a creative coding, digital art and project-based learning platform that helps Indigenous teens and young adults design, program, and share their own interactive art. What began as my capstone project at Emily Carr has grown into a space for exploring technology as a form of cultural expression and self-determination. The platform is currently in beta, with both its coding and art tools live and growing.

Ḵulus

Interaction Designer

At Ḵulus, I design community-led health technology that supports Indigenous self-determination in wellness. I work with a small multidisciplinary team, including collaborators with experience at Apple, to build tools that help communities support one another in managing diabetes. Together we’ve created both mobile and web apps entirely from the ground up, driven by collaboration, curiosity, and care.

Sessional Instructor

As a sessional instructor at Emily Carr, I taught Designing for Screens, a second-year course exploring digital product design and interactive systems. My students learned the fundamentals of UI and UX design, accessibility, and responsive design while creating hands-on projects in Figma, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
